With the aim of exchanging knowledge and experience in the fields of health and quality of life for the elderly, the specialized symposium “Active Aging” was held on Saturday, October 4, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with the presence of Dr. Ahmadi, President of Kahrizak University of Applied Science and Technology, Mr. Ghobadi Dana, CEO of the Kahrizak Charity Foundation, Dr. Raeeskarami, President of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and a group of health specialists at the Naraghi Hall of Kahrizak University.

According to the Public Relations Office of Kahrizak University of Applied Science and Technology, several distinguished managers and experts attended the event and emphasized in their speeches the importance of synergy among academic, healthcare, and social institutions in the field of aging.
Dr. Ahmadi, President of Kahrizak University, stated:
“Through the collaboration between universities and supportive centers, we can create a successful model for active aging in our country.”
Mr. Ghobadi Dana, CEO of the Kahrizak Charity Foundation, described social support and specialized services as the foundation for independent and happy living among the elderly, adding:
“This valuable collaboration should expand further, as only through the joint efforts of scientific and supportive institutions can we provide better services to the elderly.”
Dr. Raeeskarami, President of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, emphasized the necessity of developing scientific research and modern health care, saying:
“Scientific research and innovative health care are the keys to improving the quality of life for older adults.”
Dr. Namazi, Head of the Geriatric Medicine Department, highlighted the importance of preventing age-related disorders and stated:
“Preventing age-related complications and paying attention to both physical and mental health of the elderly must be our top priority.”
Dr. Hosseinpour, Coordinator of Geriatric Cooperation Agreements, added:
“Collaboration among academic, medical, and social institutions strengthens the elderly care network.”
Following this, a Memorandum of Understanding was officially signed between Kahrizak University, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and the Kahrizak Charity Foundation to expand joint efforts in education, research, and empowerment related to aging.
Dr. Omoumi discussed physiological changes in the elderly and methods of prevention:
“By understanding the natural changes in the body during aging and implementing preventive strategies, we can maintain physical health in old age.”
Dr. Darobord emphasized mental health promotion:
“Paying attention to the mental health of older adults is the key to a happy and active life in aging.”
Mr. Volouyi, physiotherapy expert, elaborated on the role of exercise in enhancing physical and mental abilities of the elderly:
“Regular physical activity and exercise significantly boost the energy and independence of older adults.”
Dr. Riyazi spoke about self-care and healthy lifestyles:
“Raising awareness among seniors about healthy living reduces diseases and improves quality of life.”
Dr. Aghili reviewed the legal and ethical aspects of elderly care:
“Understanding the rights of older adults and legal frameworks is essential for responsible caregiving.”
Dr. Mirzadeh highlighted the importance of teamwork in holistic elderly care:
“Teamwork and a comprehensive care approach ensure the health and well-being of seniors.”
The symposium concluded with active participation from professionals in nursing, psychology, and social work, followed by a specialized Q&A session and a closing reception.
