"Amadeh Laziz" Builds Emergency Helicopter Pad on Mount Damavand as Part of Its Social Responsibility

Mount Damavand, standing at 5,671 meters above sea level, is the highest peak in Iran and a popular destination for hundreds of Iranian and international climbers every year. However, scaling this majestic mountain has always come with significant risks. Harsh weather conditions, exhaustion, lightning strikes, and getting lost are among the main causes of accidents.

According to official statistics, around 100 incidents occur annually on Damavand’s climbing routes, leading to approximately 30 fatalities in previous years. Thanks to a series of safety and infrastructure initiatives led by Amade Laziz in recent years, this number has dropped dramatically, reaching zero deaths in the past year.

In its latest initiative, Amade Laziz has constructed a dedicated emergency helicopter pad on Damavand as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts. Built using eco-friendly and locally sourced materials such as gravel and compressed earth, the pad blends into the natural landscape while enabling helicopters to land safely for rescue operations. Its strategic location ensures that injured climbers can now be transferred to Milad Hospital in Tehran in under 20 minutes, an effort that could be life-saving in critical situations.

This project is just one of several efforts by Amade Laziz to enhance safety and preserve the environment on Damavand. Other initiatives include installing lighting along climbing routes, providing electricity to shelters, equipping rescue teams, installing emergency aid boxes on the mountain’s northern, northeastern, and western slopes, and cleaning popular sites such as the Shaghayegh Plain, Chalou village, and Alimestan trail.

The company has also contributed financially to the collection of waste left behind by climbers, addressing a major environmental concern with over 10 tons of garbage removed from the mountain annually. Fatigue often prevents climbers from carrying their waste back down, exacerbating the problem.

Furthermore, Amade Laziz has supported professional mountaineering activities, such as those by renowned Iranian climber Younes Feizi, promoting both safety and responsible adventure tourism.
